I haven't been terribly active over the last few months, mostly school work getting in the way but I've been taking a few snaps and tonight they're starting to go up here

Recently, I've mostly been getting to grips with my Canon EOS 1000D, the more technical aspects and thus been doing a lot of landscape, scenery and natural photography.
I want to start to develop the more artistic shots, but I can never think of concepts to go for. Something politically oriented perhaps, but what? I'd love to work with war scenes and the like but that's hardly possible. I also want to start to work with portraiture but I'm not confident working with people - I don't know what to do with them. Well, take a photo obviously, but somewhat deeper than that would be nice. Some of the photos I take of friends (I'm effectively my groups unofficial photographer) might work but I hesitate to upload them, it doesn't seem fair. Perhaps I should. I should ask some people to pose perhaps...but how? And for what?

I took a photo course at Penrhyn Castle last week, from Jean Napier of GoingDigital - mostly concentrating around Aperture and Macros, the rest was a little basic for me but I wanted a little more confidence with those aspects of photography.

I want to do a series based around various shots of my hometown, Rhyl. I've put a few up but I want to do more, show some more positive aspects. It's an impoverished little seaside town but it's still my home.

I want to get more into photography, develop my skills and my concepts, so I'm going to be around here a bit more, I hope
